GIUSEPPE

Video, Photography:

Giuseppe is the name of my dad.

He was working as a baker for 50 years in the family business that was sold out in 2009. Giuseppe thinks we should abolish money but he told me so many times that people aren’t ready yet. He says that we are backwards to the Future…. This artwork wants to get a glimpse into Giuseppe point of view on Labour, society, and money.

But more importantly this Artwork is about sitting around a table and eating some delicious Taralli.

Sara Serpilli

- artist of Italian origin, I first began studying cinema in Rome where I obtained a Bachelor Degree in the discipline of art, music and cinema in 2007. At the same time, I took a technical course in reportage and black and white photography because photography has fascinated me since I was a teenager. After finishing my studies in Rome I decided to move to France in Paris, because this city represented and still represents to me a major attraction for its vibrant cultural and artistic life. Amazed by the new and ancient art I came across in Paris I decided to resume my studies in Photography and I obtained a Master, first and second level in Contemporary Art and Photography at the University of Paris. In 2015 after several years working as a photographer in Paris I wanted to get a little break out of the big city...and the little break became seven years in Ireland where I do live and work at the moment.

In Ireland I became a member of the Art studio A4Sounds and I started a parallel practice as illustrator and graphic designer. My practice is influenced by the different media I use and by my love for photo reportage and fine art. I love bold and strong colors, and to play with absurdity and humour.
